WHO IT’S FOR
This MSc Degree in Set Pieces in Football is designed for coaches, analysts, and performance staff who want to specialise in one of the most decisive areas of modern football. It is particularly suited to professionals already working in academies, clubs, federations, or private coaching who wish to gain advanced expertise in set-piece strategy, as well as former players and graduates in sports science or coaching who aspire to work at elite level. Candidates should bring a strong foundation in football knowledge, a commitment to innovation, and the ambition to directly influence team performance through evidence-based coaching and analysis.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the MSc Degree in Set Pieces in Football are prepared to design, analyse, and execute set-piece strategies that move the scoreboard. You’ll be ready to add value from day one across clubs, academies, federations, and consultancy.

Coaches and Technical Staff
Plan and run the weekly micro-cycle for offensive and defensive set pieces: design routines, assign roles, rehearse triggers, and make live matchday adjustments. Deliver measurable KPIs (xG/xGA from set plays, goal contributions, concession reduction).

Tactical Analysts
Build the set-piece database, tag and code footage, detect patterns, and produce opponent reports and playbooks. Create dashboards to monitor efficiency by routine, delivery type, and zone to inform coaching decisions.

Physical Trainers
Prepare players for the demands of set pieces: aerial duels, blocks, sprints, and jumps. Micro-dose strength/power, coordinate timing and movement mechanics, and manage fatigue/return-to-play for high-impact scenarios.

Former Footballers Seeking Specialization
Transition your game insight into a staff role. Learn a repeatable methodology, compile a professional portfolio with match projects, and position yourself for elite opportunities as a set-piece specialist.

Professionals in Scouting or Sports Management
Scout opponents’ routines and recruit profiles that fit your set-piece model (deliverers, blockers, aerial threats). Coordinate cross-department projects, align staff, and quantify the ROI of specialist work.

Set-Piece Strategy Consultant
Conduct audits for clubs or federations, install frameworks and training menus, run staff workshops, and provide remote support across the season to lift points from dead-ball situations.

The Master in Set Pieces is designed for technical and sporting profiles such as coaches, tactical analysts, fitness coaches, former players, and professionals from academies, clubs, or federations who want to gain elite-level knowledge in this field.
But it is also created for people with no previous experience: football enthusiasts who want to make the leap and train to start a professional career in this area. You don’t need specific technical or academic knowledge to begin; what matters most is your passion, commitment, and motivation to learn.
You don’t have to be a specialist from day one, but it is a rigorous, hands-on program. We recommend coming with a strong interest in analysis and innovation in football, and the motivation to take set-piece strategy to a professional level.
Can I balance it with my job or family?
Yes. The Master in Set Pieces is designed to fit demanding schedules: it is delivered 100% online through the Virtual Classroom, so you can study from anywhere. You’ll have 24/7 access to lectures and materials, and live sessions are recorded for later viewing (attending live is recommended but not mandatory).

You’ll also benefit from personalised tutoring, course forums, individual academic follow-up, and continuous technical support so nothing gets in your way.
What if I can’t attend live sessions or something unexpected comes up during the Masters?
No worries—you won’t miss anything. All sessions—classes, tutorials, and masterclasses—are recorded and immediately available in the Virtual Classroom, with 24/7 access to videos and materials so you can catch up whenever it suits you.
The methodology adapts to different learning paces and you’ll always have continuous support: tutorials, course forums, and a clear session calendar to help you stay organised.
If something unforeseen happens, your tutor and the Academic Coordination team will help you reorganise your study plan within the calendar, with individual follow-up, feedback on assignments, and ongoing technical support.
