Understanding the regulatory framework and economic landscape in which sports organizations operate—both in sports in general and football in particular—is essential to establish the starting point and boundaries for the transformation processes of a sports entity. In a global and constantly evolving market, knowledge of data usage and exploitation regulations, new forms of communication and business through the internet, and the globalization and internationalization of the industry are fundamental pillars of digital transformation.
