Sports Data Campus and FEPAFUT join forces in a collaborative agreement to drive the growth and development of football in the region.

Sports Data Campus has established a strategic collaboration with the Panamanian Football Federation (FEPAFUT) through the formalisation of an agreement that reflects their shared commitment to strengthening growth and excellence in Panamanian football. This partnership aims not only to boost the use of advanced technologies, but also to deepen knowledge across the football ecosystem, encompassing athletes, coaches, and professionals throughout the Federation’s structure.

Sports Data Campus and the Panamanian Football Federation sign a strategic partnership

Founded in 1937, FEPAFUT has been a cornerstone of Panamanian football from the very beginning, establishing itself as the governing body of the national game. Just one year after its creation, in 1938, FEPAFUT formally affiliated with FIFA—an important step that not only strengthened its position within the international football community, but also reinforced its commitment to the standards and values that shape the sport globally.

As the organisation fully responsible for football development in Panama, FEPAFUT is committed to managing the different areas that make up football in the country, strictly following a code of ethics and professional competence that safeguards the principles and values of sport and society. The Federation is made up of the following departments: national teams, professional football, amateur football, general secretariat, human resources, accounting and finance, development, refereeing, marketing, press and communications, registrations and statistics, and legal advisory.

For the Panamanian Football Federation, this agreement is an important step for the development of football in Panama, bringing in technology and data analysis to enhance the sporting and educational development of the athletes and professionals within the Federation. Tactical analysis, Big Data, GPS, and other content are tools used day to day by professional football teams and national teams, so we must strengthen these areas to support athletes as much as possible with every resource at our disposal, and in doing so, try to get as close as possible to achieving the expected results. Sports Data Campus is an institution that gives us this opportunity, so it is a pleasure for us to work together for the future of Panamanian football at every level,” said Christian Beguer, FEPAFUT representative.

In the words of David Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus: “Joining forces with federations to collaborate with their analytics ecosystems opens up countless opportunities for all our students. For that reason, I would especially like to thank Christian Beguer and FEPAFUT for their interest and for making this agreement possible. I am convinced we will be able to do great things together.”

Joint work between both organisations includes the following areas:

  • Student placements: This invaluable hands-on experience for Sports Data Campus students will not only enrich their academic training, but also allow them to immerse themselves directly in the Federation’s dynamic working environment and in FEPAFUT’s associated clubs. This direct exchange will give our students an exceptional perspective to apply their theoretical knowledge to real scenarios, contributing significantly to their professional development while strengthening ties between academia and the working world of Panamanian football.
  • Innovative projects: The collaboration includes the design and delivery of innovative projects for FEPAFUT and its partners. Students will take part in specific projects aligned with the Federation’s objectives, guided by Sports Data Campus experts.
  • Masterclasses and outreach: FEPAFUT will have the opportunity to deliver one or more masterclasses to present the methodology and philosophy that guide its work. This unique opportunity will allow Sports Data Campus students to gain first-hand insight into FEPAFUT’s internal operations and international projection.
  • Joint training programmes: Both parties will explore the option of designing joint, specialised training in advanced data analytics applied to sport, covering both sporting and management aspects.
  • Certified training programme: A certified training programme will be established so that all participants can get first-hand exposure to FEPAFUT’s analytics ecosystem.
  • Evolving synergies: Beyond the specific points of the agreement, both parties commit to exploring and leveraging any additional synergies that may emerge through this strategic collaboration.

The agreement between Sports Data Campus and FEPAFUT represents a step forward in the use of advanced analytics in football across the region. By joining forces, these institutions aim not only to expand data knowledge in sport, but also to create opportunities for professional growth and the real-world application of advanced analytical skills within Panamanian football.
