Cancún FC is located in the city of Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico, and its home stadium is Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Founded on June 26, 2020, the club has proven to be an emerging force in Liga Expansión MX. Nicknamed “Las Iguanas” or “Toloks,” Cancún FC quickly gained the attention of football fans with its energy and determination.

Cancún FC and Sports Data Campus sign new collaboration

In the 2023 Apertura tournament, Cancún FC won its first Liga Expansión MX championship. They finished first in the general standings with 28 points, showing consistency and skill throughout the season. The final saw them face off against Atlante FC, a team with a significant history in Cancún. After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Cancún FC triumphed with a commanding 3-0 victory in the second leg at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. With two goals from Cheick Hassami Traore and one from Raúl Irám Castillo, Cancún FC celebrated its first Liga Expansión MX title, solidifying its place in Mexican football history.

Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo, with a capacity of 20,000 spectators, is an iconic sports venue in Cancún. It was inaugurated in 1984 and rebuilt in 2007 to host Atlante FC. The stadium is not only the home of Cancún FC but also hosts important events for Pioneros de Cancún of Mexico’s Serie A.
