New Alliance Between Sports Data Campus and Patriotas Boyacá: Enhancing Decision-Making with Data in Colombian Football

Patriotas Boyacá: A Club with History and Ambition

Founded in 2003, Patriotas Boyacá has established itself as a benchmark for football in the department of Boyacá, Colombia. Based in Tunja, the club has competed in 12 seasons in the top tier of Colombian professional football, reaching one of its most important moments in 2017, when it qualified for the Copa Sudamericana for the first time. That year, Patriotas Boyacá faced Brazilian giant Corinthians, drawing international attention and marking a milestone for the club.

With a strong focus on developing young talent, Patriotas Boyacá has seen players such as Jhon Arias emerge, who is now part of the Colombian national team and plays in international football. This academy-oriented approach is key for the club, which aims to continue developing young prospects, now supported by the technological innovation provided by the agreement with Sports Data Campus.

Since the 2024 season, Patriotas Boyacá has been competing once again in the top division after a brief spell in Primera B. The club is not only a symbol of perseverance and growth in Boyacá, but also an example of how investment in young talent and the use of data can transform a team.

Patriotas Boyacá TEAM GOAL

A Collaboration for the Future of Colombian Football

The agreement with Sports Data Campus will give Patriotas Boyacá access to highly trained students in sports data analysis, who will have the opportunity to carry out internships at the club. In addition, Master’s Final Projects may be developed in areas such as video analysis, scouting and the creation of data-based analytical tools.

These projects will be carried out in collaboration with the club’s professionals and will be carefully selected to ensure a real impact on Patriotas Boyacá’s sporting operations.

Patriotas Boyacá, in turn, will be able to leverage the cutting-edge knowledge and tools that Sports Data Campus students have acquired through their master’s programs. This will allow the club to improve decision-making in key areas such as talent identification, game strategy and resource management.

In addition, the possibility is open for professionals from the Colombian club to deliver MasterClass sessions, where they can share their experience in data management and sports management.

This agreement will not only benefit Patriotas Boyacá, but also Sports Data Campus, which will have the opportunity to collaborate with a club with a rich history and an important track record in Colombian football. At the same time, this partnership will reinforce the objective of both institutions to promote the use of data in youth and professional football, contributing to the further development of the sport in Colombia and beyond.
