Sports Data Campus and Fly-Fut, two organisations working at the intersection of education and technology in sport, are pleased to announce the renewal of their successful partnership.
Sports Data Campus and Fly-Fut Renew Their Partnership
Since its launch in September 2022, the collaboration between Sports Data Campus and Fly-Fut had delivered valuable results. Building on those achievements, the two organisations announced the renewal of their partnership in September 2023, with the aim of continuing to expand knowledge for coaches, analysts, teams and athletes pursuing success in sport.
The renewed agreement sought to take sports analysis further through Fly-Fut’s technology, combining human expertise with drone engineering.
Drone Technology and Artificial Intelligence for Sports Analysis
As described in the announcement, Fly-Fut had developed its technology with contributions from more than 150 respected coaches and analysts. This collaboration led to the creation of advanced software powered by artificial intelligence, specifically designed to analyse training sessions at elite teams and matches involving academy teams.

By analysing drone footage, Fly-Fut’s software was designed to save time and provide precise metrics to support the assessment and improvement of sporting performance. The announcement highlighted access to more detailed, real-time data as a way to help coaches, analysts and teams make better-informed decisions and train more efficiently.
Bringing Innovation into the Classroom
Alongside technological innovation, the partnership had enabled a series of masterclasses for students on Sports Data Campus master’s programmes. These included “Drones + Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Analyst”, delivered with Enrique Cházaro, Sports Intelligence Coordinator at Club América in Mexico, exclusively for the MSc Big Data Analytics in Football. Further sessions were planned as part of the continuing collaboration.
Through these sessions, students would gain essential knowledge and learn how to benefit from the software’s capabilities, strengthening their ability to work with clubs and teams that need this information.

A Shared Vision for the Future of Sports Technology
Luis Llagostera, CEO and founder of Fly-Fut, said:
“For us at Fly-Fut, it is an honour to stand alongside Sports Data Campus, and we are eager to work with them to share and communicate this cutting-edge technology, which will undoubtedly revolutionise the way sport is understood and improved. Our goal has always been to stay close to the industry’s leading figures so that we can learn and deliver greater value to the clubs, analysts and coaches who place their trust in us.”
David Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus, added:
“We are very excited about renewing our agreement with Fly-Fut, given the innovative and disruptive nature of its offering. We are convinced that autonomous drone technology makes it much easier to capture video footage during both matches and training sessions, while also generating an important source of data that our students can work with and turn into valuable information for their coaching staff.
I would particularly like to thank Luis Llagostera for his constant willingness to create, move forward and share, bringing additional solutions to the analytics ecosystem of professional sport.”
Sports Data Campus and Fly-Fut also reaffirmed their commitment to working with clubs already using drone technology for sports analysis, as well as those interested in adopting it. This ongoing collaboration aimed to give clubs, executives and athletes access to innovations in analysis and help them make the most of the technology.

Partnerships That Strengthen Professional Development
Renewing the partnership with Fly-Fut reaffirmed Sports Data Campus’s commitment to providing high-quality education for students seeking to broaden their experience in football and to supporting the development of the sports industry worldwide.
The initiative offered students the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge through real-world experience with an established company, helping them develop the skills needed to enter the workforce and build their professional careers.
