Sports Data Campus welcomed Basque company Futboltek to its network of collaborators in September 2021, strengthening its commitment to introducing students to promising developments in sports technology.
Futboltek Joins Sports Data Campus as a Collaborator
The partnership would benefit students on the Master’s in Big Data Applied to Physical Preparation in Football, the Master’s in Sports Big Data, the Master’s in Big Data Applied to Football Scouting, delivered in collaboration with Sevilla FC, and the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Sport, among others. Students would have access to educational activities coordinated by both organisations.
These master’s programmes were endorsed and certified by UCAM and designed to meet the needs of an increasingly professional, demanding and constantly evolving sports industry.
About Futboltek
Futboltek was founded in the Basque Country with the aim of making individual football technique measurable, collecting data to support the analysis of player development. Its approach focuses on improving each player’s game by building on their strengths and addressing their weaknesses, helping them reach their sporting potential.
The company specialises in analysing players’ technical ability, particularly ball control and passing.
Using panels fitted with LED lights and sensors that detect ball strikes, the system collects data across different parameters. These measurements make it possible to track improvements in technical ability over time and compare players or teams.
The panels are portable, allowing coaches to adapt exercises to individual players’ needs and design their own drills. They can also be used in group sessions, providing an additional cognitive stimulus alongside more traditional training methods.

Futboltek’s approach makes individual technique measurable, providing data to support the analysis of footballer development.

Combining Cognitive Stimuli and Technical Execution
The Futboltek methodology is based on creating cognitive stimuli that require quick, accurate decisions followed by correct technical execution. Repeating this sequence of skills, supported by the motivation that measurable progress can give players, forms the basis of a wide range of possible exercises.
At the time of the announcement, this versatility had helped Futboltek stand out among emerging sports technology companies and become an official collaborator of Real Sociedad. Other clubs in LaLiga and international competitions had also expressed interest in its system.

Practical Knowledge for Sports Data Campus Students
Through the collaboration, Futboltek would share the experience and technology it applies in its work, giving Sports Data Campus students first-hand insight into its approach to technical training and player development.
