Sports Data Campus and CeltaLab 1923 joined forces in February 2022 to bring students closer to sports innovation, entrepreneurship and the professionals shaping the industry’s future.
Sports Data Campus and CeltaLab Form a New Partnership
Sports Data Campus continued its search for leading voices in sports innovation. Its educational offering extended beyond written materials and theory to include talks, sessions, events and masterclasses, helping students gain a broad understanding of data in sport.
From the moment students begin their studies, Sports Data Campus treats them as professionals in the sector, connecting them with entrepreneurs and industry practitioners to develop collaborative relationships and create new opportunities.
About CeltaLab 1923
CeltaLab grew out of Celta de Vigo, one of the historic clubs of Spanish football. Its approach combines an open, lean innovation model with the capacity to support, incubate and engage with start-ups, entrepreneurs and other participants in the wider innovation community.
The original announcement highlighted four aspects of its work: Sportech innovation, developing programmes and activities aligned with its strategic innovation plan; an open ecosystem that attracts talent through initiatives and programmes; an innovative culture that encourages creativity and intrapreneurship; and talent recruitment through its academy.
Its project was organised around two main areas. The first focused on events, talks, a community for exchanging ideas, employer branding and team-building activities. The second centred on innovation, developing and promoting new content. Together, these activities positioned CeltaLab as a contributor to innovation and talent development in Spain.
Connecting Students with Innovation in Sport
Through the collaboration, students would benefit from CeltaLab’s content across several Sports Data Campus programmes:
- Máster en Big Data Deportivo.
- Máster en Big Data aplicado al Scouting en el fútbol, delivered in collaboration with Sevilla FC.
- Máster en Inteligencia Artificial aplicada al Deporte.
- Máster en Big Data aplicado a la Preparación Física en Fútbol.
These programmes, among others, were endorsed and certified by UCAM and designed to provide support and high-quality education for professionals working in the sector, as well as those aspiring to enter it.
