Founded in Amsterdam eight years before the announcement, Metrica Sports was described as one of the fastest-growing companies in the football industry.
About Metrica Sports
Initially focused on simplifying video analysis workflows, with leading clubs around the world among its clients, Metrica Sports also developed algorithms to capture tracking data from video.
The original article highlighted Play, software designed for teams at every level and available at the time with a free version. It brought together tagging, editing passages of play, visualisation and data export within a single workflow.
Metrica Sports’ vision was to give all clubs access to the same types of tools, regardless of their budgets.

Always looking to the future, Sports Data Campus was preparing new editions of its programmes, including:

These master’s programmes were endorsed and certified by UCAM.

The renewed agreement was expected to provide students with engaging, high-quality content, building on previous editions. This contribution would come from Rubén Saavedra, co-founder and CEO of Metrica Sports, who had recently joined Sports Data Campus at Football Data Ipurúa Day.
