Sharing common goals and interests, Sports Data Campus and Jornal Record are joining forces and resources to support the development of advanced analytics in professional football in both Portugal and Brazil.

The Collaboration Agreement with Jornal Record

Sports Data Campus, an international reference in specialist education in Big Data and advanced football analytics, and the respected Portuguese newspaper Jornal Record Portugal have signed a collaboration agreement to raise awareness of and develop advanced football analytics, while supporting the education of future data analysts. The partnership forms part of the Master em Big Data Aplicado ao Futebol, delivered in collaboration with Stats Perform and certified by UCAM (Universidad Católica de Murcia).

“We are convinced that this agreement will enable us to enhance our students’ education and work, helping to stimulate and develop interest in advanced data analytics while providing the general public with high-quality football content,” said David R. Sáez Ávila, CEO of Sports Data Campus.

Sergio Krithinas, Deputy Director of Record, said: “We have a responsibility to offer our readers high-value content that stands out through innovation. This is why we have signed this agreement: to strengthen our relationship with our readers while seeking to lead the development of advanced analytics in the Portuguese media, supporting the students and professionals who put it into practice.”

Scope of the Collaboration Agreement

The agreement announced in November 2022 set out the following opportunities:

  • Record Portugal would become Sports Data Campus’s media partner in Portugal, helping to promote and develop advanced analytics applied to football.
