Sports Data Campus and LongoMatch have joined forces through an agreement designed to benefit Sports Data Campus students and strengthen their practical training in sports video analysis.
LongoMatch and Sports Data Campus: A Partnership for Practical Learning
At Sports Data Campus, we are always looking for ways to enhance our programmes and improve our students’ future prospects. This ongoing commitment led us to join forces with LongoMatch, which would contribute through a range of activities across the master’s programmes offered at the time of the agreement in September 2022, including:
- Master’s in Sports Big Data.
- Master’s in Big Data Applied to Football Scouting, delivered in collaboration with Sevilla FC.
- Master’s in Big Data Applied to Physical Preparation in Football, among others.
Video Analysis to Improve Sporting Performance
LongoMatch is video analysis software that helps coaches, analysts and athletes. It was developed to meet the need to collect and analyse the actions within a sporting event, providing a clear guide to improving performance.
Imagine taking an exam with an open book in front of you, allowing you to consult the information needed to answer each question correctly. In principle, that should help you achieve a better result. That is the idea behind LongoMatch: an open book that allows us to review passages of play, identify what we have done well and discover opportunities to improve.

As described in the original announcement, LongoMatch allowed users to import match footage captured using a webcam, IP, HDMI or SDI camera, view events live and share them immediately with their team. The software also offered analysis and drawing tools for events using eight cameras. Users could share their analysis by creating playlists and presentations from one or several matches.
A Shared Commitment to Technology and Education
LongoMatch highlighted the significance of the partnership:
“For LongoMatch, being able to collaborate with an organisation such as Sports Data Campus means stepping outside our comfort zone and investing in new communication channels so that we can continue educating professionals in the sector.
Our mission is to create accessible tools for coaches, analysts and athletes that enable them to improve their performance with the support of technology. This is a goal we share with Sports Data Campus, as we both want the sports industry to continue growing alongside new technologies. We are very excited and confident that we will achieve great things together.”

David R. Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus, also welcomed the agreement:
“For Sports Data Campus, it is always a pleasure to work and actively collaborate with companies such as LongoMatch, which are committed to contributing to the sector’s development by providing technologies that improve and optimise processes, both at professional clubs and at every level of the game.
This collaboration undoubtedly strengthens our firm commitment to working alongside the best, so that our students can benefit from access to companies with an established presence in Big Data and advanced analytics applied to sport.
LongoMatch is one of the established companies currently working to expand its range of products and services for football analysts and those working in other sports. We are convinced that this agreement will mark the beginning of a lasting relationship that will clearly benefit our students.”

Developing the Next Generation of Sports Data Professionals
Under the agreement, Sports Data Campus announced that it would introduce LongoMatch’s analysis software into its programmes to enhance practical learning. The shared aim was to advance scientific innovation, promote a better understanding of data processing in football and nurture the talent that would help shape the future of the sports data industry.
Welcome, LongoMatch!
