In a step forward for the world of hockey in Spain, Sports Data Campus and the Spanish Hockey Federation have formalized a joint working agreement that will enable the implementation of advanced data analysis tools both within the Federation and across any of the teams that are part of it.

This represents a significant advance in the optimization of performance and strategic decision-making in hockey, thereby contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the sport at both national and international level. In addition, as part of this alliance, we will expand learning and professional development opportunities for students across our various master’s programs.

Sports Data Campus and the Spanish Hockey Federation Drive Innovation in Spanish Hockey

The Spanish Hockey Federation (RFEH) stands out as the highest governing body responsible for hockey in Spain. Its commitment to the development of the sport and its player-centered approach have been fundamental pillars of its work. With a forward-looking vision, the RFEH positions itself as an innovative, inclusive and equality-driven organization, continuously striving for excellence and professionalism in all of its actions.

From fostering talent to expanding the community of players and fans, it has worked tirelessly to elevate the status of Spanish hockey, always maintaining rigor and attention to detail in everything it does.

The Federation seeks to build an increasingly strong community, significantly expanding the network of coaches and referees in both quantity and quality, while professionalizing its structure in order to grow as an organization. It also aims to improve both the number and quality of facilities, and welcomes the progress being made in this area. The organization actively promotes talent and has systems in place to detect it and adapt it to the different stages of the player lifecycle.

The RFEH takes pride in the achievements of its athletes, clubs and national teams.

Its goal is to grow by multiplying the community of players through promotion and competition tools, while also increasing the fan base of the sport.

“We are very pleased to sign this agreement with Sports Data Campus to continue driving the growth of the RFEH. Innovation and a data-oriented mindset are two very important pillars of the Federation’s strategy, and we believe that working hand in hand with an institution such as Sports Data Campus will help us continue the growth of the RFEH,” stated representatives of the Spanish Hockey Federation.

In the words of David R. Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus: “It is true that, every week, we sign multiple agreements so that our students can enjoy top-quality training programs, but also so that they have the greatest possible opportunities for practical and immersive learning.

That said, having the opportunity to add one of the country’s leading sports federations, with more than 15,000 licenses, to our ecosystem of collaborators is a true source of pride; not only because it allows us to demonstrate our commitment to sport regardless of the discipline, but also because it opens up enormous professional development opportunities for our students.

I would also like to take this opportunity to especially thank Pablo Gutiérrez and Llorenç Arnau for making this possible, as well as the entire leadership team of the Royal Spanish Hockey Federation. I am convinced that this is a major step forward in the development of analytics ecosystems within such an exciting sport.”

The agreement between Sports Data Campus and the Spanish Hockey Federation includes several key points that promise fruitful collaboration. First, the Federation will have the opportunity to host Sports Data Campus students as interns, allowing for valuable hands-on experience both with its players and executives and in specific areas of the organization.

In addition, there is the possibility of developing joint projects in which students will be able to participate under the supervision of specialized tutors.

A standout feature of this new alliance is the opportunity for professionals from the Spanish Hockey Federation to deliver MasterClass sessions, sharing their experience and knowledge with Sports Data Campus students. This initiative will not only enrich student learning, but also strengthen the ties between both institutions.

Sports Data Campus will work side by side with the Spanish Hockey Federation to identify immediate and medium-term needs and provide the best possible support through internships or projects carried out by the talent trained within our institution.

Strengthening the Sports Data Campus Experience Across the Sports Industry

This agreement aims to enrich the Sports Data Campus experience in sports as prominent as hockey. By expanding the range of sports covered, students will be able to complement their professional profiles, gain knowledge in the construction of databases and metrics, and use data to make informed and accurate decisions.

By joining forces, Sports Data Campus and the Spanish Hockey Federation not only promote the growth of the sport, but also provide unique opportunities for the professional development of students. With a focus on innovation and excellence, this collaboration lays the foundations for a promising future in sports analytics and hockey in Spain.
