Club Universidad de Chile places its trust in Sports Data Campus to strengthen the use of data in both sporting and organisational areas.
Universidad de Chile has selected Sports Data Campus as its strategic partner to support the club’s transformation and digitalisation process, demonstrating its commitment to technological innovation.
In this way, the highly qualified professionals trained at our institution will provide Universidad de Chile with data-driven solutions through the in-depth analysis of training sessions and matches, player performance monitoring, and the implementation of talent identification processes, with the aim of delivering a competitive edge across all football categories and the club’s various departments, while also supporting decision-making within the club’s sporting management.
Club Universidad de Chile was founded on 24 May 1927 and quickly established itself as one of the most important teams in Chilean football, becoming a key figure in several historic moments in the sport within the country. Over nearly 95 years of existence, the club has won 18 national league titles, six domestic cups, and one international title: the Copa Sudamericana, won in 2011 after defeating Liga de Quito in the final.
Historically, Club Universidad de Chile has built a remarkable popular following, with an impressive fan base that loyally supports the team in every match. It is a hallmark of the “Romántico Viajero”, and one that continues to grow over time.

“The agreement reached with Sports Data Campus is of great importance in bringing together the academic world and the reality of the business, generating value both for the club, by having people with professional training in the field of management, and for those individuals, by giving them the opportunity to take part in the real experience of working in a football club like Universidad de Chile, which carries particular pressure and responsibility because of its importance in the country,” said Pablo Galaz Cares, club executive.
“We hope this will be a fruitful and long-term collaboration that continues to contribute to the football industry through high-quality developments and work,” he added.
In the words of David Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus: “This agreement with one of the benchmark clubs and most prestigious institutions in Chilean football reinforces our strategy of offering professional development opportunities to our students, wherever they may be. On behalf of Sports Data Campus, I would like to thank the club for the trust they have placed in us.”

This collaboration will not only enable the implementation of advanced statistics projects across all football categories and club departments, but will also give us the opportunity to address academic and training aspects aimed at students across all our programmes. In this regard, Universidad de Chile will have the opportunity to deliver one or more masterclasses to our students, allowing them to gain deeper insight into the institution’s analytical and operational ecosystem.
Likewise, we are committed to designing joint training initiatives of shared interest and exploring additional synergies in the future. Together, we are focused on delivering high-value and relevant learning experiences and opportunities in the world of sport.

This initiative provides our students with a unique opportunity to acquire first-hand knowledge through real experiences in a prestigious club environment, enabling them to develop the skills needed to enter and establish themselves in the professional world.
